Cool climate vineyard

Pewley Down Vineyard sits on a south facing chalk slope in a small valley on the southern edge of Guildford within walking distance of the town.

The vineyard is planted with classic cool climate varieties of vines producing both red and white grapes. The flints and chalk also provide minerals giving the grapes additional beneficial qualities which flow through into the wines.

Award winning wines

Crafted out of the English rural countryside and ripened by the sun, the handpicked grapes from our harvests are carefully transported to professional contract wineries where the teams make our luscious sparkling rosé wines and still rosé wines.

A passion for nature

The vineyard benefits from uninterrupted exposure to sunshine enhanced by the gentle south facing slope. Wildlife is abundant with wild bees, wasps, butterflies, deer, foxes, badgers, squirrels and many different birds all visiting regularly.

Biodiversity Project

Our “biodiversity” project is taking shape in the two fields on the opposite north facing slope in our valley. The fields were acquired in 2020 and are classed as “unimproved chalk grassland” having never been ploughed, sown or fertilized.

The fields are being managed to encourage biodiversity by allowing the naturally occurring flora and fauna to prosper alongside gentle management of  hedges and invasive scrub.
